LEBANON -- Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, June 23 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Davis, 65, of Lebanon. Retired from Ross Gear and a bus driver for Wilson County Schools, "Hemi Head" died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Skyline Hospice.

A native of Wilson County, he was the son of the late Jesse Thomas Davis and Mary Elizabeth Bingham Davis. He was a member of the Bethlehem Church of Christ

Services were conducted by Brother Barry Keene and Brother Michael Grooms. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include: his wife of 43 years Shirley Ann Wilkerson Davis, son Gregory Dale Davis and siblings William Carlton Davis of Nashville, Raymond E. Davis and Frances Louise Murrell – both of Mt. Juliet, Margaret Frances Schmidt of Springfield and Helen Louise Williams of Toledo, OH.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Thomas Lee Davis and Dallas Sullivan Davis.

Family and friends served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were former co-workers at Ross Gear and Wilson County School Bus Drivers.
