Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Watson, 92, of Lebanon. A veteran of World War II, having served with the the U.S. Army's 7th Infantry Division, he died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Quality Care in Lebanon.
Born August 5, 1920, in Wilson County, he was the son of the late Richard Lemuel and Martha Jane Piercey Watson and was a lifelong farmer.
A member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, he attended the Athens Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Watson was a member of the DAV and VFW.
Visitation Friday after 11 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo. Services will be conducted by Brother Terry Fesler. Interment with military honors will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dan and Willie Watson; and a sister, Eva Ann Eason.
Survivors include: his wife of over 65 years, Mary Frances Tomlinson Watson; niece Barbara Anne Durand of Lebanon.
Active pallbearers: Ray Allen Tomlinson, Rick Tomlinson, Jerry Gross, Ferrell Carman, Albert Buehler, and David Tomlinson.
Lebanon's Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
