Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Maple Hill Church of Christ for Mr. Melvin Allen Piercey, 92, of Lebanon. Retired from the U.S Air Force after a 20-year career, including service during World War II, Mr. Piercey died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at The Pavilion. He was also retired from TRW's Ross-Gear Division and a member of Maple Hill Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: son Michael (Pat) Piercey; sisters Ramona (Charles) Haskins, Karen (J.H.) Drennon and Alvilda Hancock; grandchildren Jason (Ashlee) Piercey and Emily (Mark) Blanks; great-grandchildren Eli, Jackson and Kylee Piercey; Lillian and Pierce Blanks; along with several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by wife Dorothy Piercey; parents Luther and Blanche Piercey; siblings Wayne Piercey, Doug Piercey and Fredda Russell. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maple Hill Church of Christ building fund.
