Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1003 Hickory Hill Lane, Hermitage for Col. Denson, 66, of Lebanon. Retired from the Tennessee Army National Guard, Col Denson died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Nashville's St. Thomas Hospital.

Col. Denson was a graduate of Cumberland University, and was awarded the Legion of Merit and the Tennessee Distinguished Service Metal among other awards.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Visitation at the church begins at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Services will be conducted by Pastor Keith Enko. Interment will follow at the Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens in Mt. Juliet.

Survivors include: his wife of 46 years, Marlene Denson; daughters Sharon Hudson-Douglas and Andrea Cox; grandchildren Daniel A. Hudson, James A. Hudson, Hannah Stinnett and Carson Cox; brother A.C. Denson and sister Edna Jean Cox.
Col Denson is preceded in death by his parents, Alex Leo & Winnie Florence Pippin Denson; brother James ”Bill” Denson; sisters Jo Mae Allen & Elene Marks.

Honorary pallbearers: his friends who are members and retirees of the Tennessee Army National Guard along with Billy Jones, Andy Harper, Dan Stewart, Alton Driver and George Hawkins.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Educational Fund.
