Mrs. Billie Crook McKee, 89 of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at the University Medical Center. Born April 12, 1923 in the Brush Creek Community, she was the daughter of the late Tilman and Mattie Winfree Crook. 

Mrs. McKee was a member of the Church of Christ and was a 1942 graduate of Watertown High School. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband in the McKee family livestock business. She loved attending estate auctions and was an avid glass collector.

Mrs. McKee was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Alvin Murphey McKee, who died Dec. 20, 2011 and sister Lassie Lee Crook Tarkington.

She is survived by children: William Neal “Bill” (Kristina Oldfield) McKee, Alvin Carson (Jennifer Bundy) McKee, Wanda Beth McKee Bates and Margaret Elaine (Dick) Anderson; eight grandchildren: Richard Alvin Anderson, Christopher Roland (Chrissy) Anderson, Victoria Loron (Shannon) Clark, Jared Cleveland Wilson Bates, Dana Michelle Hudson, Joseph Ryan (Rene) McKee, Rachel Lynne (Roger) Upton and Emily Gail (Billy) Anderson; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law James Garvey (Wiebena Hackett) McKee and Franklin Delano (Faye Wall) McKee.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Melvin Sloan and John Kieffer officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers include: Jay White, Richard Macon, Kenneth Roberts, Grady Montgomery, Jerry Fults, Bill Robinson, Mike Watkins and Bill Vaught.

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Wilson County 4-H Clubs, 925 E. Baddour Parkway, Lebanon, TN 37087.
