A woman was arrested and charged with stabbing her boyfriend shortly after midnight Sunday, the second such incident involving the couple since 2008.

Officers with Lebanon Police Department responded to a call at 12:12 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 4, at University Medical Center regarding an individual who was receiving medical treatment for a stab wound. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, James L. Waters, 27, of 711 Vincent Cason, Lebanon.

Chief Scott Bowen said in a news release that Waters was uncooperative and refused to give any information regarding his injury. Waters was transported by LifeFlight helicopter from UMC to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Further investigation revealed that Waters had been stabbed allegedly by his girlfriend, Rosaline M. Hastings, 24, also of 711 Vincent Cason, Lebanon. In addition, officers determined that the incident occurred at the couple’s residence.

Hastings was arrested and charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault and Tampering With Evidence.

“This is the second such incident between Hastings and Waters,” Bowen said. “In January 2008, Hastings was arrested and charged with Domestic Aggravated Assault for allegedly stabbing Waters.”
