Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17 at the Ligon and Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Ricketts, 76, of Lebanon. Born August 11, 1936 in Wilson County, he died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at University Medical Center.
The son of the late Girsham Greely and Floy Tarpley Ricketts, Mr. Ricketts was a 1955 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and later graduated from John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science. He worked for over 50 years as a funeral director and embalmer in Wilson County, having owned Ligon & Bobo-Ricketts Funeral Home from 1976 to 1980.
He was a member of the Highland Heights Church of Christ.
Visitation with the Ricketts family will be held Monday after 10 a.m. until service time. Services will be conducted by Michael Grooms. Interment will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: his Wife of 52 years Nelle Ricketts of Lebanon, brother Clyde (Betty Sue) Ricketts and sister Lyda Ragsdale -- both of Gladeville; sisters-in-law Louise Ricketts of Mt. Juliet and Mary Ann Ricketts of Gladeville.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ricketts was also preceded in death by brothers Hall and Edward Ricketts and sisters Virginia Fuqua and Nettie Ruth Ricketts.
