Mr. Sparks, 79 of Hartsville, died Dec. 20, 2012, at Nashville's Baptist Hospital. Born Oct. 14, 1933 in Aldenville, PA, he was retired from Western Publishing as a printer.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and a Methodist.

Mr. Sparks was preceded in death by his parents:  Howard and Eva Giles Sparks; brother, Howard Lee Sparks; sister, Marilyn Sparks.

Survivors include: his wife of 58 years, Anne Suierveld Sparks; children: Linda (James) Phillips, Susan (Wayne) DeFonzo, Joan Sparks, James J. (Nancy) Sparks; grandchildren: Dana Phillips, Matthew, Michael, and Daniel Sparks.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23 at the Dixon Springs Cemetery with Bro. Dickie Johnson officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 12 Noon – 1 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
