Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Clayton Smith Lane, 87, of Lebanon. A Wilson County native, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he died Jan. 6, 2013 at University Medical Center.

During the war, he served aboard the USS St. Louis. Mr. Lane was retired from the Lebanon Woolen Mills and was a Baptist. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Services will be conducted by Bro. Terry Cathey. Interment will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. 

Survivors include: brother-in-law Boyd King; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lane is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Helen Bradshaw Lane; sister Lorene King and brother Henry Odell Lane. 

Lebanon's Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
