Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11 at Watertown's Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Ricketts, 84, of Lebanon. Employed many years in construction and retired from the City of Lebanon, Mr. Ricketts died Tuesday evening, Jan. 8, 2013 at Quality Care Health Center.
Ray was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, an avid horseman and small game hunter.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Billy Trice and Rev. Greg Bell. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Park in Lebanon.
Survivors include: his wife of 59 years Jean Bailey Ricketts; daughter Anita (Joe) Hodges, brother William "Snooky" Ricketts along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents J.H. and Annie Johnson Ricketts, brothers Riley and Johnnie Gilford Ricketts and sisters Annie Mae Wright, Marie Hutchinson and Lillian Cressman.
Active pallbearers: Ricky Wright, Randy Ricketts, Barry Ricketts, Timmy and Ramsey Goolsby, Bobby Crook and Charles Ricketts. Honorary: Junior Gibbs, Bobby James, Sam Swindell, Ray Robinson, Jim Goodall, Matthew Martin, J.D. Butler, Charlie Hall, Terry McPeak and friends at Four Winds and Norene General Store.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Larimore Warren, Dr. Roger McKinney and staff and the Quality Rehab Center staff.
