Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Jan. 13 at Watertown's Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. George P. James, 95, of Watertown. A World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, he died Jan. 10, 2013 at Quality Care Health Center in Lebanon.

A former service station operator and longtime mail carrier in Watertown, Mr. James served as a combat flight instructor for carrier-based B-25 bombers. He was a member of the Watertown United Methodist Church and attended the Watertown Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Rodger McCann and Bob Haley. Burial was at the Jennings Cemetery in Statesville.

Survivors include: sister Ruth (Dub) Horn of Ft. Worth, TX as well as nieces and nephews of the Armstrong, Jennings, Mathis and Horn families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Artie B. and Hettie Decker James, his wife Gustine Armstrong James, an infant son and brother, Artie James, Jr.

Watertown's Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
