Funeral services for Mrs. Evans, 98, of Lebanon, were held Sunday afternoon, Feb. 10 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. David Hesson and Rev. Mark Youngman officiating. Interment followed at Cedar Grove Cemetery. 

Mrs. Evans died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at University Medical Center. Born June 16, 1914, in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Lawrence and Jennie Axelson Eskew.

Mrs. Evans worked at Axelson Florist for 50 years and was a member of Gladeville United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Evans in 1990; sister, Flora Adamson; and brothers, Charles, Ralph, Paul, Philip and Alfred Eskew.

“She loved us and would want us to know that what we have all enjoyed in our lives we can never lose, so laugh and remember her as if she was beside you.  God will get one of his angels back for another assignment.” – her family.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Kenneth Eskew, Tony Eskew, Sam Eskew, Whit Adamson, Keith Davis, and Vic Adamson.

Memorials may be made to the Gladeville United Methodist Church or to Hearthside Assisted Living.
