Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 at the Church of God Worship and Ministry Center, 1007 Hartsville Pike, Lebanon for longtime local business owner Jerry R. Freeman.

Owner of M&M Winding Company for 37 years and a native of Wilson County, Mr. Freeman died Wednesday, Feb. 13 at his home at the age of 83.

Known as "Poppie" to his family, Mr. Freeman was active in his faith, helping lead Sunday morning worship services at local nursing homes.

The family will receive friends at the church Thursday between the hours of 4-8 p.m. and for two hours prior to the service on Friday.

Services will be conducted by Reverend Danny Sellars and Reverend Gordon Lee. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include: wife Vivian Freeman, brother Don (Nancy) Freeman, sister Diane Walker, children Velvet (Jimmy) Wright, Dona (Kenny) Reich, Lisa Bartlett, Doyle (Yvonne) Freeman, Robin Keller and Angel (Doug) Dillard, daughter-in-law Sandy Freeman, son-in-law Ronnie Johnson, 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

Mr. Freeman iss preceded in death by parents Melville and Viretta Freeman, sisters Gayle Johnson and Carol Sue Freeman, children Jere Melville Freeman and Dyrenda Johnson and brother-in-law Joe Walker.

Pallbearers: Richie Wright, Jimmy Wright, Scott Greer, Brian Greer, Jeremy Reich, Russ Johnson, Brooks Freeman, Britt Dillard and Jake Sloan.

Memorial donations may be directed to:  Empower Me Day Camp (223 Bluegrass Circle, Lebanon 37090) and Alive Hospice (1718 Patterson St, Nashville 37203).
