Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 12 at Watertown's Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Parkerson, 85. Formerly of Brush Creek, the US Army veteran of World War II died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Quality Care Health Center in Lebanon.

Born in DeKalb County to the late Oliver and Movie Malone Parkerson, he was a carpenter.
Services were conducted by Chaplin Lemuel Wade. Burial was at the New Hope Cemetery, in Alexandria.

Survivors include: sons Randy (Janet) Parkerson of Lebanon, Gary (Ann) Williams of Westmoreland; sister Ruby Nell Parkerson and brother John (Ruth) Reynolds -- both of Alexandria.

Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Sherry Parkerson of Smithville and Elizabeth Parkerson of Alexandria; as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Foutch Parkerson on Oct. 20, 2009 and by siblings: Toy, Elbert, M.B., Jim D. Parkerson, Isabelle Stephens, Bessie Fitts, Sallie Parkerson and an infant sister.

Watertown's Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
