MT. JULIET -- Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 12 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Browning, 68, of Lebanon. The daughter of the late James and Odessa Everage Godsey, she died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010. An avid sports fan and a lover of music, Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by her husbands, Gilbert Lee Ullmer and Lawrence F. Browning. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dave Davis. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Survivors include: her loving companion of 13 years Jimmy Lindsey and daughters Susan (Ray) Martin of Mt. Juliet and Linda Ann (Jody Jones) Pogue of Bulan, KY. Also surviving are siblings: Bernie H. Godsey of Dayton, OH; Gary L. Godsey and Silas Godsey -- both of Dwarf, KY; Elvira Roberts of Fairborn, OH; Virginia Dean Ball of Dayton, OH and Linda Ritchie of Emmalena, KY; grandchildren Lindsey Ann Martin, Jeffrey Gelvin, Jennifer Torres, Garrett L. Farwick and Ben C. Farwick; great-grandchildren Alaina Torres, Randy Gelvin, Sybil Gelvin,Ethan Wale and Carter Wale. She was also preceded in death by siblings Larry Ray Godsey, Molly Godsey and Glena Faye Godsey and daughter Mary Ann Johns. Active pallbearers will be Ray Martin, Gary Godsey, Jeffrey Gelvin, Silas Godsey, Harvey Lindsey and Jody Jones. HERMITAGE -- Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 12 at the Central Pike Church of Christ, 4240 Central Pike, for Mrs. Cartwright, 61. She died Feb. 9, 2010. Survivors include sons James Cartwright and Joseph (Jeannette) Cartwright; siblings Mike (Sandra) Brown, Charles Brown, Sandy (Jerry) Trent, Diane Motley and Cathy (Jeff) Goodwin; along with six grandchildren. Mrs. Cartwright is preceded in death by husband Hamilton Cartwright; parents James and Lucille Brown; and brother Jimmy Brown. Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet is in charge of arrangements. |

LEBANON -- Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10 at the Wilson County Funeral Home, 618 S. Maple Street, for Mr. Flippen, 73, of Lebanon. An over the road truck driver of 53 years, Mr. Flippen died Feb. 7, 2010 at his home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Leonard Deibold and Pastor Charlene Mascato. Donnie Kemp will be the eulogist. Interment wil follow at Wilson County Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife of 25 years Alice Flippen and children: Darryl Flippen of Russellville, KY, Tory Flippen of Manchester, Leigh Truman of Goodletsville, Cindy Osburn of Lebanon and Lynne Williams of Winder, GA. Mrs. Matilda Cornelia Cardwell Criswell, age 91, a resident of Columbia and Lebanon, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2010, at Rosewood Manor in Columbia. Private interment will be conducted by Partlow Funeral Chapel at Cedar Grove Cemetery with immediate family attending. A celebration service honoring Mrs. Criswell’s life will be held on Saturday, February 13 at Highland Heights Church of Christ, 505 North Cumberland Street. The family will receive friends at the church at 9:30 a.m. with the service following at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Highland Heights Church of Christ library fund. Mrs. Criswell, daughter of the late Robert E. and Mattie Woods Cardwell, was born on April 4, 1918, and lived in Lebanon until the last few months of her life. In 1936 she married her husband, John Henry Criswell, who passed away in 1980. Mrs. Criswell cared for children in her home for many years. A founding member of Highland Heights Church of Christ, she loved people and enjoyed hosting dinner parties in her home. She composed poetry, skits, and short stories, with which she entertained both young and old. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a special aunt and uncle, Willie Woods Rutledge and Howard Rutledge, sisters Mrs. Allie Bonner, Mrs. Mary Elmore, Mrs. Ruth Edmiston and brother Robert Caldwell. . Survivors include her son, James H. Criswell (Marynelle) of Columbia, grandchildren Karen Criswell Heard (Stephen) of Canton, GA, and John. Michael Criswell of Columbia; great-grandchildren Dillon Criswell Heard, Charles Jesse Heard, and Gracie Mac Heard of Canton, GA, niece Bobbie Montgomery of Lebanon, nephew Gene Ligon (Nancy) of Hendersonville and other nieces and nephews. In addition to family survivors are devoted friends, Dayton Jamison, Michael and Stacy Grooms, Tom and Pat Kolby – all of Lebanon and the members of the “Birthday Club.” The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Alexander Badru of Lebanon and Hartsville, and the staff at Rosewood Manor in Columbia. MT. JULIET -- Mr. King, 49, of Mt. Juliet died Monday, February 8, 2010. At Charles’ request, he will be cremated. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt. Juliet Road. Survivors include: mother Billie Jo King Walters; wife Holly D. King and children Jason (Crystal) Fuller and Jamie Fuller. Also surviving are siblings Wayne (Jackie) Murphy, Tracy (Ski) Fialkowski and Barbara (Bobby) Franklin; grandchildren Cameron, Addison and Jacksen along with several nieces and nephews.
