LEBANON — Funeral services for Mrs. Phelan, 75, are scheduled for 12 Noon Friday, January 8 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. Born November 21, 1934, in Wilson County to the late Sidney Mitchell Smotherman and Mattie Lulalee Coleman Smotherman, she died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at her home.

Mrs. Phelan was a homemaker and an active member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church were she had served on the building and finance committees.\

Visitation Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of 5-7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until service at Ligon & Bobo. Services will be conducted by Rev. Al Doyle.  Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. 

Survivors include: children Donald Thomas (Pamela) Phelan of Bon Aqua; Kay Phelan Hoskins of Smyrna and Steven Paul Phelan of Lebanon; granddaughters: Elizabeth Beard, Christina Christy, Dana Adkins, Rebecca Steelman and Katelyn Hand; six great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Phelan on September 27, 1982; son James David Phelan; siblings Leila Neal, Martha Prowell, Donald and Mitchell Smotherman.

Honorary pallbearers:  Harry and Helen Hendricks, Mary Hodges and members of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Active pallbearers:  Don and Steve Phelan, Russell Hendricks, Tyler Hand, Chad Steelman and Dan Reasonover. Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church Building Fund.  Arrangements by Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.

LEBANON – Funeral services have been scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, January 7 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mrs. Bane, 82, of Lebanon. She died January 5, 2010.

The family will be receiving friends between the hours of 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 p.m. until service on Thursday. Services will be conducted by Brother Danny Sellars.

Survivors include grandchildren: Nichole (Terry) Lovins, John (Rebecca Oliver) Mears and Jason (Tammy Wilson) Mears; great-grandchildren: Eric (Ashlyn) Cummings and Chris Cummings, Taylor and Rachel Mears; great-great-grandchildren: Bryson Lashlee, Destiny Cummings, Chris Cummings Jr., and Alyssa Cummings.

She is preceded in death by husband Goble Brown Bane, daughter Donna Mears, and brothers Carl and Charles Johnson. Arrangements by Sellars Funeral Home, 313 W. Baddour Pkwy, Lebanon.

LEBANON – Funeral services have been scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, January 7 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Reece, 63, of Lebanon. Known as “Don” to his family and friends, Mr. Reece died Jan. 4, 2010.

The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 4 p.m. to service on Thursday.  Services will be conducted by Brother Danny Sellars.

Survivors include daughters Bonnie (Tony) Reece and Mandi Reece; sister Debbie (Ray) Conatser; mother of children Denise Reece; grandchild Allie Elizabeth Rich; nieces Brooke and Blair Conatser; great-nieces Lexi Reece and Liza Belle Dickens; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers:  Ray Conatser, Ronnie Sellars, Bobby Sircy, Jimmy McDowell, Bobby Thompson and Jade Sellars. He is preceded in death by parents Dewey Donald and Mildred Denney Reece.

LEBANON — A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 6 at the St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church for Mrs. Atkinson,90, of Lebanon. Retired from Precision Rubber where she worked as an Executive Secretary, Mrs. Atkinson died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010.

A member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church for over 50 years Mrs. Atkinson was the last surviving pioneer of the church, and served McFarland Hospital as a  volunteer for many years.

Services will be conducted by Father Michael O’Bryan. Interment at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include: daughters Barbara (Allen) Denney of Hendersonville and Terry Jeanne (J.T.) Harris of Castalian Springs; grandchildren Ross Denney and Luke Denney; brother-in-law Jack Kortebein; along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband Andrew Atkinson; parents Leonard and Rose Lauda; siblings Mary Kortebein, Michael and Tony Lauda. Pallbearers: Ross and Luke Denney, Jimmy and David Harris.

Mt. JULIET — Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 6 at the Center Chapel church of Christ, 9500 Central Pike, for Mr. Tignor, 77, of Mt. Juliet. The son of the late James B. and Annie McDuffy Tignor, Sr., he died Jan. 3, 2010.

Visitation Wednesday at the church from 11 a.m. until service. Services will be conducted by Brother Andy Connelly and John Brown, Sr. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include: his wife of 57 years Mary Lou Hargrove Tignor; children Bobby (Derinda) Tignor, Jr., Ed (Denise) Tignor, Sr., Vada (Randy) Troutt, Sherrie (Joey) Bilyeu, Mark (Angie) Tignor, James “Rick” (Debbie) Tignor and Ladye (Allen) Finn.

Also surviving are siblings James B. (Fannie) Tignor, Jr., Myla (L.D.) Mullican and JoAnn Herald; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Pallbearers will include: Jason Tignor, Ed Tignor, Jr., Robby Tignor, Joey Bilyeu, Allen Finn, Cory Troutt, Jesse Tignor and Blake Tignor. Honorary: Tom Brown, Rex Parker, and the Elders and Deacons of Center Chapel church of Christ. Arrangements by Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet.
