WATTERTOWN — Funeral services were held Monday, January 4 at the Round Lick Baptist Church for Mr. Barrett, 78, of Watertown. Born in DeKalb County and a barber for over 45 years, the US Army veteran died Jan. 2, 2010 at his residence.

He was the son of the late Pete and Ella Spurlock Barrett and a member of the Round Lick Baptist Church. Services were conducted by Rev. Steve Mayle with burial at the Sycamore Cemetery.

Survivors: wife Barbara Barrett; children Tim Barrett and Kim (Gilliam) Vastola — all of Watertown and Bratten L. (Carol) Barrett of Hermitage; grandchildren Bethany and Caleb Barrett and Tyler and Gage Vastola. Also surviving: sisters Inez Wiley, Bettye Robinson, Jean Chapman and Erline Clayborn — all of Lebanon along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the Round Lick Baptist Church building fund.  Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, in charge of arrangements.

LEBANON — Funeral services were conducted Monday, January 4 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Leftrick, 21, of Lebanon. He passed away Jan. 1, 2010.

Services were conducted by Brother Donald Owens and his grandfather Brother Paul R. Leftrick. Interment in Whorton Springs Cemetery, Smithville.

Survivors include father Lonnie Leftrick and mother Abigail Kimbrell; sister Tabitha Leftrick; brother Lonnie Ashley Leftrick; aunts Vickie DeLon and Dewona (Glenn) Mason; uncles Mike (Kathy) Leftrick and Kenny Leftrick; grandparents Paul and Betty Leftrick and James Kimbrell along with numerous cousins; special cousin Tara DeLon; and special friend: Brittany Ramos.

Family and friends served as pallbearers. He is preceded in death by grandmother Helen Leftrick. Arrangements by Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon.

LEBANON — Graveside services were held Friday morning, January 1 at the Warren Cemetery for Ms.Stockdale, 82, of Germantown. Born in Wilson County, died December 30, 2009, at the Methodist Hospital in Germantown.

She sold Avon for many years and was a member of the Egypt Central Baptist Church in Raleigh. Services were conducted by Brother Donald Owens.

She is survived by children; Lynne (Alan) Perlman and Michael Stephen Stockdale — all of Germantown; sister Marilyn (Tommy) Halbert of Lebanon; grandchildren Mark Steven Perlman and Jeffrey Niel Perlman; and two great grandchildren, Rachel Tara Perlman and Micah A. Perlman.

She was preceded in death by her mother Gertie McCaleb Dickens; stepfather Lutcher Dickens; sister Cecelia McCaleb; and a stepbrother Owen Dickens. Arrangements by Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, January 2 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet for Mr. McPherson of Mt. Juliet. He passed away December 29, 2009. Mr. McPherson was preceded in death by his father, David Ray McPherson and his step-father, Dahl Vaughn.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, December 31 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, January 2 from 10 a.m. until time of service. Chaplain Ray Vick will conduct the service. Interment will be at a later date.

Survivors include: his wife of 22 years Marsha Smith McPherson; mother Linda (Tom) Bennett; children Jennifer Riad, Diana (Glen) Steele, Robert Beydler, Melissa (Jason) Meyers and Tommy (Janel) McPherson. Also surviving: sisters Susie (Herb) Broyles, Donna (Andy) Sparks, Pam (Bobby) Mangrum, Jackie (Donald) Layne, Ren Estes, Candi (Gideon) Ndlovu and Thomasina (Mark) Tyree; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fred Caldwell Benefit Fund at Wilson Bank & Trust, 1476 N. Mt. Juliet Rd., Mt. Juliet, 37122.

LEBANON — Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2 at the J.C. Hellum Funeral Home, 107 Stokes Street, for Mr. Taylor, 80, of Lebanon. Born June 16, 1929 in Wilson County to the late Gracie Tippitt Taylor, he died December 28, 2009 at the University Medical Center in Lebanon.

He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church. Family visitation is 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include: his wife of 60 years Mamie Louise Woods Taylor; children Phillip (Cheryl) Taylor, Jr. of Watertown, Linda (Shedrach) Seay of Lebanon and Cynthia (Phillip) Coleman Rochester, MI.
Also surviving are grandchildren Carlos Taylor of Chattanooga, Chad (Rena) Seay of Lebanon, Keith (Shawna) Seay of Mufreesboro, Denesia’ Gamble of Decatur, GA., Phylicia Taylor of Edmond, OK. and Dennis Gamblel II of Grand Rapids, MI; five great grand-children and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
