MADISON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home for Mrs. Mercer, 69, of Lebanon. Formerly of Madison and known to her friends and family as "Little Bobbie", she died Oct. 14, 2009. Visitation with the family will be Sunday 1 p.m. until service time at the Madison Funeral Home. Interment 10 a.m. Monday at Middle Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery. Survivor include: her husband of 48 years, Bob; children John (Debbie) Horton, Chris (Sherry) Mercer, Sandra Binkley, Penny (Clinton) Gentry and Roberta (Glenn) Ferguson; along with six grandchildren. LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, October 17 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Lannon, 89 of Gladeville. Retired from AVCO (Vaught) and a longtime farmer, and owner of Lannom’s Plant Farm, he passed away on Oct. 14, 2009. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon Friday from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service. Services will be conducted by Brother Jim Minor and Brother Robert Spickard. Interment follows in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Survivors include children: Bob (Brenda) Lannom of Gallatin and Lugene (Eddie) Snipes of Tallahassee FL; grandchildren Lee Lannom, Julie Lannom, Amy (Seth) Wilhite, Risha Lannom, Micah Lannom, Whitney Snipes and Taylor Snipes; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will include: Eddie Snipes, Lee Lannom, Ralph Comer, Jeff Fennessey, James Woodall and Micah Lannom. Mr. Lannom is preceded in death by wife Martha Louise Comer Lannom, son Larry Stephen Lannom, parents Lee Dempse and Pearl Sanders Lannom and sisters Marie Lannom Howard and Maggie Lee Lannom Bramwell. WATERTOWN -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, October 16 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Derting, 71, of Liberty. A farmer and a graduate of Liberty High School, Mr. Derting died Oct. 14, 2009 at DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville. A member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Roy and Laura Mae Derting. The family will receive friends Friday from 9 a.m. until the funeral. Services will be conducted by Rev. Tommy Ashford with burial at the Salem Cemetery. Survivors include: son Dennis Stacy of Liberty and numerous cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Bobbie Stacy Derting. Pallbearers include: Wilson Williams, Robert Robinson, Stein Prichard, Charles Prichard, Dalton Fish and Greg Fish. Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, is in charge of arrangements. |

LEBANON — Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, October 14 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mrs. Poston, 66, of the Tuckers Crossroads Community. Born April 14, 1943, in Wilson County to the late Paul and Katherine Williams Neal, she died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at the Quality Care in Lebanon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethlehem Church of Christ. Services were conducted by Brother Kenneth Head. Interment followed at the Bethlehem Cemetery in the Tuckers Crossroads Community. Survivors include: her husband of nearly 48 years Harlan Poston; sons Russell (Donna) Poston of Lebanon and Gregory (Sarah) Poston of Franklin. Also surviving are grandchildren Samantha (Chris) Jaskulski; Elizabeth, Olivia andJohn Gregory Poston; great grandchild Blake Parrish; and a special caregiver, Margaret Ashworth. Pallbearers will include: Andy, John Paul and Seth Poston, Jerry Dowell, Bobby McEachern, Randy Holland and John House. MT. JULIET — Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 14 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Brittain, 72, of Mt. Juliet. The daughter of the late Charles A. and Betty Oneida Chandler Neal and a faithful member of Corinth Church of Christ, Mrs. Brittain died Sunday, October 11, 2009. Services will be conducted by Brother Alan Hutchison and Brother Charles Eaton. Interment will follow at Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna. Survivors include: son Steve Brittain of Matthews, NC; and brothers Ralph "Buddy" (Thadelle) Neal of Mt. Juliet and Sam (Dolores) Neal of Nashville. Also surviving are granddaughters Lauren and Hannah Brittain along with several nieces and nephews. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Brittain and sisters Geneva Hunter and Peggy Smith.
