Robert Thomas Ricketts, 82 PDF Print E-mail

LEBANON – Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, November 9 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Ricketts, 82, of Lebanon. He passed away Nov. 6, 2009.

Services were conducted by Brother Bill Trice. Interment was in Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years Mary Ruth Ricketts; sons Robert A. "Doc" Ricketts and Joe Wayne "Cat" Ricketts; along with grandchildren Robert "Robbie" Ricketts, John Wayne Ricketts, Nicholas Austin Ricketts, Cody Adam Ricketts, and Chrystal LouVada Ricketts.

Also surviving are great-grandchildren Dominick and Cheyenne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Family and friends served as pallbearers.

He is preceded in death by parents James Carley and Nadie Davenport Ricketts, sisters and Allie Mae and Vivian Weaver, Frances (Calvin) Roberts, brother James E. (Elizabeth) Ricketts, and great grandbaby Leland Tyler Williams.

WATERTOWN – Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, November 8 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mrs. Ferrell, 84, of Alexandria. Born in DeKalb County, she died Nov. 5, 2009 at her residence.

Services were conducted by Rev. Don Rigsby with burial at the Prosperity Funeral Home.

Survivors include children: Norman (Deborah) Ferrell, Jean (William) Edmonds and Betty Cantrell – all of Alexandria, Rosemary Bane and Martha Eatherly — both of Brush Creek and Betty Cantrell of Alexandria. Also surviving are sisters Bea (Kenneth) Christian of Watertown and Dellia Mae (Richard) Poston of Smithville, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents Selmer D. and Bettie Ferrell Hale, husband Joe D. Ferrell, children Lou Ann, Joe and John Ferrell, three grandchildren and five siblings.

Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LEBANON – Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, Nov. 8 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mrs. Bates, 79, of Lebanon. Retired from the US Postal Service, she died Nov. 5, 2009 at the Summit Medical Center.

Born in Raleigh, NC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Corinth Watkins Mimms and was a member of the West Hills Baptist Church.

Services were conducted by Rev. Jonas Taylor and Rev. Rodney Duckett. Entombment was at the Graceland East Memorial Park in Greenville, SC.

Survivors include: children Elaine (John) Foley of Lebanon and David Bates of Wendell, NC; grandchildren Richard Wade, Jr., of Lebanon, Jason (Victoria) Bates and Elizabeth Bates – both of Wendell, NC; siblings Mary (Leland) Weather and Jesse Mimms – both of North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Carl McBee Bates, Jr., two brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be directed to West Hills Baptist Church, Building Fund, Lebanon.

NORENE – Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Fairview Cemetery in the Norene Community for Mr. Woodall, 84, of Lebanon. A lifelong farmer and a native of Wilson County, he died Nov. 5, 2009 at his residence.

The son of the late John and Ada Robinson Woodall, he was a member of the Barton’s Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by sister-in-law Erlene Woodall and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Howard, Walter, Oscar, Peyton and Robert Woodall, sisters Audie Woodall and Mary Elizabeth Dedman. Nephews served as pallbearers.

Winifred Stephens Denning, 81 PDF Print E-mail

LEBANON – Funeral services have been set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 10 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mrs. Denning, 81, a native of Shreveport, LA. She died Tuesday, November 3, 2009.

"Wynn" as she was known to friends and family, was a member of the Christian faith, a former missionary and church pastor.

The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 between the hours of 6-9 p.m. Services will be conducted by Brother Ron Hamm and Reverend Raymond Williams. Interment in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Pegram, is set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Survivors include: husband J.S. "Speck" Denning, children Pamela (Raymond) Williams of Springfield, Massachusetts, Bill (Brenda) Lagergren of Sale Creek, Charles (Jo’elle) Lagergren of Havana AK and Jim (Heidi) Denning of Mt. Juliet. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Michael Denning.

Sellars Funeral Home, 313 W. Baddour Pkwy, Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.
