William Allen Bryson, Sr., 83 PDF Print E-mail

WOODBURY -- Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 15 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home for Mr. Bryson, 83, of Cannon County.

A native of Cannon County and the son of the late Dexter & Gertrude Campbell Bryson, he died Sept. 12 at Alvin C. York Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was a member of Red Hill Church of Christ, a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army and was a retired business owner and minister.

The family will receive friends Monday until 8 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Brother Eddie Duke. Burial will follow at Riverside Gardens with full military honors provided by VFW & Am. Legion of McMinnville.

Mr. Bryson is survived by his wife of 60 years Mallie L. "Judy" Bryson of Woodbury; children: William "Bill" (Joan) Bryson Jr. of Lebanon, Michael Ray "Cricket" (Geraldine) Bryson of Woodbury, Melinda Kay (Wade) Simmons of Manchester, Terry Dwight (Rita) Bryson of Readyville, Sharon Frances (Larry) Reeves of Murfreesboro, Robert Earl "Robbie" (Debra) Bryson of Woodbury and Rita Michelle (Alan) Hale of Murfreesboro.

Also surviving is his brother, Johnny Bryson of Readyville. along with 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryson was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Stacey.

WATERTOWN -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, September 13 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. McKinney, 21, of Watertown. A naitve of Wilson County, he died Sept. 9, 2009 at his residence.

The family will receive friends 2-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until the funeral. Services will be conducted by Brother Steve Mahle with burial at the Prosperity Cemetery.

Survivors include his mother Connie Fay Murphy McKinney of Tullahoma; son William "Nate" Nathan; grandparents Royce and Jeanette Murphy of Statesville.

Also surviving are aunts Deborah Chaophasy of Murfreesboro and Vickie Knopp of Watertown; cousins Mitchell and Meghann Knopp; Carra, Nicholas and Jaden Chaophasy.

He is preceded in death by father homas William "Tommy" McKinney and uncle This Chaophasy.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Septembe 12 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the baddour Parkway for Mr. Harris, 57, of Lebanon.

A Christian, a cabinetmaker, a kitchen designer with Hermitage Kitchen Designer, and an avid UT fan, Mr. Harris died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009 following an extended illness.

The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home on Friday, between the hours of 3-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until service. The chapel service will be conducted by Rick Thorne, Brother Ron Hackney and Dr. Larimore Warren. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include: his wife of 13 years Margie Harris; children Scott (Kirsten) Harris, Beth Harris, Shelly (Aaron) Moore, Luke Puryear and Joey Puryear; grandchildren Kylee and Cole Stafford, Eli and Ayden Moore; siblings Jimmy Harris, Larry (Tina) Harris, Terry (Jenny) Harris, Paula (Ronnie) Stark, Leesha (Bruce) Richardson and Eddie (Twila) Harris.

Pallbearers: Rick Thorne, Ed Riley, Dr. Larimore Warren, Bob Black, Wesley Wall, Jimmy Piercey, Howard Crutcher and Dan Mack. Honorary: the Guy’s Night Club.

He is preceded in death by parents James Hubert Harris and Pauline Locke Collier, brother Danny Harris, and step-father Jimmy Collier.

HILLHAM -- A celebration of life and memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Friday, September 11 at Duncan’s Chapel, Freewill Baptist Church for Mr. MacConner, 55, of Celina.

Known as "Jim" to his family and friends, Mr. McConner died Sept. 1, 2009.

Survivors include wife Kathy Brown of Celina; sisters Cassieana MacConner and Eileen Bell; nieces Holly Asbridge, Shannon Valvo; nephew Adam Valvo; step-son Richard Ward; stepdaughter Korynn Flatt; daughters Donna Jean "D.J." and Christina Marie.

He is preceded in death by parents John Milton and Edith Helen Smith Brown, siblings Carol Lynn Brown, Margaret Brown and Daniel Brown.

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 12 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet for Ms. Garrett, 85, of Mt. Juliet. A 1942 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School, a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet and a 40-year employee of the DuPont Corporation, she died Sept. 8, 2009.

She was the daughter of the late Mark and Cader Garrett. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Services will be conducted by Brother Paul Gunn. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens

Survivors include: nephews & nieces Earlene Hinkle, Toni Heard, Mark Garrett, Genelda Kellams, Mary Ann Kirby, Teresa Richardson, Waldean Richardson, Katy Whiteaker, and Tawanda Travis; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings: Howard Owen Garrett, Houston Garrett, Mamie Eagan, Agnes Lee Garrett, Horace Garrett and Katheryn Garrett.

Pallbearers: Garrett Travis, Ja Whiteaker, Mike Richardson, Jon Richardson, Warren Hinkle, Jr., Andy Garrett and Eddie Heard. Honorary pallbearers: the Sunshiners at First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet.
