Evelyn Costley, 77 PDF Print E-mail

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, September 16 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Costley, 77, of Old Hickory. A member of Faith Baptist Church and a former longtime employee of Castner’s, she died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009.

The daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Neola Winters Felts, Mrs. Costley was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Dougharty and her second husband, Bobby Costley.

Services were conducted by Pastor Clay Faircloth and Rev. Michael Connell. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include: children Kevin (Amy) Costley, Travis (Margaret) Dougharty, Belinda (Gary) Fleming and Sheron Searcey; grandchildren Sarah and Sam Fleming, Daniel (Alaina) Dougharty, Noel and Ryan (Shanna) Searcey and Brandon (Lauren), Kayla, Braden, Alyssa and Karli Costley; great-grandchildren Owen, Ethan and Addison Dougharty, Gwendolyn, Madalyn and Erica Searcey.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Costley was also preceded in death by son Daryl Dougharty and sister Geraldine Goodman.

Active pallbearers: Brandon Costley, Braden Costley, Daniel Dougharty, Noel Searcey, Sam Fleming, Chad Etheridge, Chris Brown and Bruce Brown.  Honorary: Ryan Searcey, Harriet McReynolds, Nancy Gass, Jeri Lyn Brown and Tyler Brown.

Memorials may be made to Karli’s Kause at any branch of Wilson Bank & Trust. 

Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt. Juliet Road and Weston Drive, was in charge of arrangements.

LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, September 16 at the Sellars Funeral Home, 313 West Baddour Parkway, for Mr. Hudson, 56, of Lebanon. A veteran of the United State Army and an avid UT fan, he passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009.

Services were conducted by Brother Michael Grooms and Brother Danny Sellars. Interment was at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers: friends at the Veteran’s Home.

Survivors include brothers Jackie Lynn Hudson and Robert Ewing Hudson; aunts Ruth (Ben) Gleaves, Ann (Charles) Romano and Margaret Colwell; along with numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by parents Rubert and Barbara Marable Hudson.

MT. JULIET -- Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, September 15 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Frease, 77, of Mt. Juliet. Born Sept. 8, 1932 in Akron, OH, he died Sept. 12, 2009.

Mr. Frease earned a Masters Degree from Kent State University in 1964. He was a member of Joy Church International in Mt. Juliet, where he served as an usher and was a veteran of the U.S. Army – having served two years in Japan.

He began work at Babcock & Wilcox Co. in Barberton, OH in 1956 and retired as president of the Trimble Company in Johnson City in 2003. He was the son of the late Harold G. and Oweita Mae Frease.

Services were conducted by Pastor David Goldner. A graveside service and burial will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

A memorial service will be conducted 7 p.m. Wednesday at Joy Church International. 

Survivors include: wife Peggy Frease and sons Pastor Jim (Anne) Frease and David G. (Jennifer) Frease – all of Mt. Juliet. Also surviving are grandchildren David G. Frease, Jr., Brittany L. Frease, Seth Frease, Julia Frease and Johnathan Frease.

Memorial donations may be made to Joy Church International of Mt. Juliet, P.O. Box 247, Mt. Juliet, 37121.  Bond Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

WATERTOWN -- Funeral services were held Monday, September 7 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Harris, 73, of Watertown. Born in Wilson County to the late Archie Lee and Winnie Cunningham Harris, he died Sept. 5, 2009 at his residence.

A former employee of Le-Al-Co, he was a member of the Watertown First Baptist Church, a graduate of Watertown High School and a veteran -- having served in the U.S. Army.

Services were conducted by Rev. Ronnie Smith and Edsel Floyd. Burial was at the Cunningham Cemetery.

Survivors include: wife Jeanette Prichett Harris of Watertown and sons Bruce (Vivian) Harris of Murfreesboro, Alan Harris of Watertown and Lynn (Kim) Harris of Gordonsville. Also surviving are grandchildren Jake, Matt, Spring, Josh and Steven; great granddaughter Kaylynn; sisters Jo Frances (Kenneth) Askew of Carthage and Lynda Sue Simpson of Watertown along with special friends Charlie and Pat Reeder.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris is preceded in death by brother William Robert Harris.

Active pallbearers included: Ed Roberts, John Johnson, Bob Huddleston, Jake Harris, Matt Harris, Steven Harris and Josh Harris. Honorary: Joe Lynch, Joe Malone, Mike Bailey, Ray Jennings, Ray Bass, Ted Wright, Bobby Mount, Ricky Sanders, Johnny Blair, Bobby Harvey, Bill Robinson, Junior Bain, Don Bass, Jimmy Majors, Ed Bailey, Wayne Rodgers, Don Moser, Ricky Martin. Gene Shehane, Ricky Vantrease, Alan Shehane and Joe Parkerson.

William Allen Bryson, Sr., 83 PDF Print E-mail

WOODBURY -- Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 15 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home for Mr. Bryson, 83, of Cannon County.

A native of Cannon County and the son of the late Dexter & Gertrude Campbell Bryson, he died Sept. 12 at Alvin C. York Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was a member of Red Hill Church of Christ, a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army and was a retired business owner and minister.

The family will receive friends Monday until 8 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Brother Eddie Duke. Burial will follow at Riverside Gardens with full military honors provided by VFW & Am. Legion of McMinnville.

Mr. Bryson is survived by his wife of 60 years Mallie L. "Judy" Bryson of Woodbury; children: William "Bill" (Joan) Bryson Jr. of Lebanon, Michael Ray "Cricket" (Geraldine) Bryson of Woodbury, Melinda Kay (Wade) Simmons of Manchester, Terry Dwight (Rita) Bryson of Readyville, Sharon Frances (Larry) Reeves of Murfreesboro, Robert Earl "Robbie" (Debra) Bryson of Woodbury and Rita Michelle (Alan) Hale of Murfreesboro.

Also surviving is his brother, Johnny Bryson of Readyville. along with 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bryson was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Stacey.
