MT. JULIET — Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning, August 5 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Wright, 94, of Nashville. A member of Phillipi Church of Christ and the widow of the late Ted Wright, she died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009. Services were conducted by Brother Dan Dozier with interment following at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Survivors include: children Dorothy (Tony) Elkins of Nashville, Frieda (Raybon) Smith of Lebanon and Milo (Deborah) Wright of Hermitage. Also surviving are sisters Daisy, Nancy and Katie; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. Great grandchildren served as active pallbearers. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wright is preceded in death by son Milton and his wife Mary Wright; daughter Burma Wright; four brothers and three sisters. Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt. Juliet Road and Weston Drive, was in charge of arrangements. |

MT. JULIET — Mrs. Birdie Vaughn Tramel age 82 of Mt. Juliet, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009, at Summit Medical Center. She was born April 16, 1927 in Wilson County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Leonard Thomas Vaughn and Thelma Everette Vaughn. Mrs. Tramel was a homemaker and a member of Silver Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Tramel; brothers, W.T. and Richard Vaughn. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Fay Tramel of Mt. Juliet; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, August 4 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, Lebanon, with Bro. Russ Stephens officiating. Interment was at the Conatser Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Springs Baptist Church, 9938 Lebanon Road, Mt. Juliet, 37122. Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |

PEGRAM – Graveside funeral services with military honors were held Tuesday afternoon, August 4 at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for Mr. Jankovsky, 56, of Murfreesboro. Born Dec. 21, 1952 in Oakland, CA, he died July 29, 2009 at his residence. An engineer in the oil industry, he was a decorated US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having earned the Bronze Star, a Vietnam Service Medal, three Bronze Service Stars, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm and a Purple Heart. Survivors include: daughters Tosha Menke of Lebanon and Paris Jankovsky of Nashville; and the love of his life Sybil Leo of Nashville. Also surviving is stepson Wesley Daniels of California, grandchildren Brooke and Hunter Clay and siblings: Richard "Sloopy" Jankovsky and Mary Kinnanon of Texas, Dennis Jankovsky of Arizona, Dee Jankovsky of New York, Daria Jankovsky of Oregon, Dee Sparks of California and Donald "Skip" Jankovsky of Oklahoma as well as many nieces and nephews. LEBANON — Charlie Thomas passed away on July 30, 2009 at age 64. He was a Quality Control Engineer for Seigel Roberts. Services were conducted by Dr. Jonathan Richardson Saturday afternoon, August 1, at the Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon. Survivors include wife of 26 years Susan Mitchell Thomas of Lebanon; children Gregory Lee (Theresa) Lasater and Jason Edward (Chalet) Lasater; grandchildren Caitlain Lasater, Gregory Lee Lasater Jr., Susan Bailey Lasater, Nikki Lasater and Lindsey Lasater; nieces Kristy Thomas and Katie Thomas; and caregiver Janice Cooper. LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1 at the St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church for Mr. Deffendall, 82, of Lebanon. A US Army veteran of World War II, he died July 30, 2009. A former employee of Texs Eastern, he was an active member of the Wilson County Republican Party. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon Friday, July 31, between the hours of 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. until the service at the church. Services will be conducted by Reverend Michael O’Bryan with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery immediately following the service. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Alice Welk Deffendall; children Joyce (Terry) Stafford, Danny (Prissy) Deffendall, Jim (Carmen) Caitlan, Mark (Patti) Deffendall, Kelly (Kristy) Deffendall and Bill (Martha) Deffendall. Also surviving are grandchildren: Cory (Kellie) Deffendall, Lindsay (Jeremy) Mosley, David Deffendall, Jennifer (Jim) Stroud, Brianna Caitlan, Sharon Huppenthal, Jon Trusty, Joanna Trusty, Patrick Deffendall, Jessie Deffendall, Will, Gabe and Madeline Deffendall; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Sewell, Sophie Mosley and Lydia Deffendall. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers: Ann Tomlinson, Mike Trusty, George Lowery, Eddie Testamand, Jerry Phares, Bud Grubbs, Red Goodman and Larry Stone. He is preceded in death by parents Otis and Elizabeth Biggs Deffendall, three brothers and one sister.
