LEBANON – Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 26 at the Sellars Funeral Chapel on the Baddour Parkway for Mrs. Brown, 89, of Lebanon. Know as "Bea" to her family and friends, she passed away June 24, 2009.

The family will be receiving friends Friday from 10 a.m. until the funeral.  Services will be conducted by Brother Danny Sellars. Interment will follow in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery, Boma.

Survivors include: children Shirley Brown Robinson and Charles Kenneth Brown; siblings Dowlene Moscato, Katherine Hawkins and James (Marie) Roberts; grandchildren Cindy Robinson, Cassie (Donn) Fishbein, Christy Neese and Charles Howard Brown; great-grandchildren Jacob Fishbein and Sara Fishbein; friends Dee Polidoro and Shannon Neese; and her little puppy PeeWee.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

She is preceded in death by husband Charles Norman Brown, infant son Johnny Ray Brown, parents Dow and Nola Carr Roberts, sisters Vivian Mehok, Lucille Warren, Mairean Polvino, and Nelda Sellars, brothers Bobby Roberts, Billy Roberts and infant Lewis Roberts.

MT. JULIET – Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, June 26 at the Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet for Mr. Elliott, 63. Known as "Jerry" to his family and friends, he was born January 18, 1938, and died Tuesday, June 23, 2009.

Visitation Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral. Services will be conducted by Brother Todd Elliott. Burial will follow at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.

Survivors include: father John Elliott; sister Jessie (Joe) Chalfin and brother Jack (Diane) Elliott. Also surviving are nephews Todd (Jennifer) Elliott, Troy ( Angie) Elliott, John (Jolynn)Dotson, Ralph (Surina) Dotson; niece DeeAnna (Jermaine) O’Quinn; great nieces and nephews Gregory, Wesley and Zachary Elliott, Jake, Cooper and Cort Dotson, Luke and Reese Elliott, Kaitlin Philpott, Brandon Adams and special friend Marty Nicholson.

He was preceded in death by his mother Peggy Keating Elliott.

Pallbearers: John Dotson, Jimmy Stevens, Troy Elliott, Gregory Elliott, Joe Chalfin and Gary "Moose" Henley. Honorary pallbearers will be friends at the Donelson Pub.

LEBANON -- Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25 at the Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Whitley, 60, of Lebanon. A hairdresser and a member of the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, she died Tuesday June 23, 2009 at her residence.

Visitation will be Wednesday between the hours of 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral. Services will be conducted by Brother John Petree and Donnie Bain. Interment follows at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include: mother Estelle Whittemore of Lafayette; husband Darrell Whitley of Lebanon; children Derrick (Ronda) Whitley and Sabrina (Mike) Peller -- both of Lebanon; siblings Terry (Elaine) Whittemore of Lebanon and Keith (Sonja) Whittemore, Nancy (Carl) Fishburn and Debbie (Donnie) Patterson -- all of Lafayette; grandchildren Mackenzie and Riley Grace Whitley, Whitley and Molly Bess Hayes, step-grandsons Corey and Zack Peller.

She is preceded in death by father Hubert Clemmons Whittemore.

Active pallbearers: Shannon Patterson, Colby Patterson, Dustin Fishburn, Jacob Whittemore, Brandon Bass, Michael Corley, Gary Dillard and Mike Peller. Honorary:, doctors and nurses from the University Medical Center, Summit Medical Center and Alive Hospice.

LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, June 25 at the Sellars Funeral Home on the Baddour Parkway for Mr. Spurling, 79, of Lebanon.

Retired from the US Army and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Mr. Spurling died June 22, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Spurling was a founding member of the National Guard Marksmen Training Unit, a member of the National Guard Retired Shooters Association and the National Rifle Association. Honors included: The National Rifles Championship Presidents 100 winner, the Distigushed Rifleman’s Badge, and the Tennessee Governor’s Top 20 Shooters.

Mr. Spurling’s military career started in Rockwood and included assignments in many areas of the world including the Korean Conflict, Iceland and Operation Desert Storm. He was a member of the Touchstone Church of Christ.

The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the funeral.  Services will be conducted by Brother Tom Tignor. Interment with full military honors in Cedar Grove Cemetery will immediately follow the service.

Survivors include wife of 52 years Irene Kindrick Spurling; children Jamey (John) Taylor and James Kirk Spurling; grandchildren Jamey Marie Spurling and James Cody Spurling; siblings Emily (Bobby) Brock, Peggy Sexton, Carol Wright, and Ann (Joe) Cameron, Jack (Eula) Spurling and Tom (Helen) Spurling; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Artie Gibbs, Dwight Jewell, Joe Smith, Gene Barnette and Bill Durham. Honorary: Sandra Bass and Terri Quinn and the staff of Odyssey Hospice, the National Guard Retired Shooters Association members, and retired members of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

He is preceded in death by parents Joshua Spurling and Beatrice Wallace Spurling and brother Bill Spurling.

LEBANON -- Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Mofield, 73, of Lebanon.

Born in Smith County to the late Thomas King Mofield and Pearlie Mae Whited Mofield, he died away Sunday June 21, 2009 at the University Medical Center.  A member of Fairview Church, he worked for Shenandoah Mills for 53 years.

The family will receive friends Wednesday after 9 a.m. Services will be conducted by Brother Michael Christian and Brother Stan Edwards. Interment will be in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include: his wife of over 49 years Betty Jean Lester Mofield; children: Malinda (Robert) Gammon of Lebanon, Pamela (Jack) Simerly of Knoxville, Larry (Julie) Mofield of Bradenburg, KY; sister Frances Harlan of Lebanon; grandchildren: Andrew and Amanda Gammon, Zachary, Trent and Braden Mofield; sister-in-law Mable Mofield of Lebanon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter Kaitlyn Mofield; siblings: William, Bob and D.P. Mofield, Bertie Mae Green and Myrtle White.

Honorary pallbearers: employees of Shenandoah Mills and members of the Friendship Sunday School Class of Fairview Church. Active: David and Michael Mofield, Tommy Thompson, Charles Poston, Robert Johnson and Jimmy Lester.
