W’town soldier dies from injuries |

FUNERAL MASS IS JUNE 23
A soldier whose parents reside in Watertown died June 15 from injuries he received earlier this month in Paktya, Afghanistan when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle, followed by small arms fire. U.S. Army Specialist Jonathan Charles O’Neill, 22, died at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He was injured on June 2 in Operation Enduring Freedom. |

HERMITAGE – Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Hermitage United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 4250 Andrew Jackson Parkway, for Mrs. Marquet, 68, of Old Hickory. A member of the PEO, the Music City Quilters Guild and the World Clown Association, she died Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Visitation will be 12:30 - 1 p.m. Saturday at Hermitage United Methodist Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Allen Black. Survivors include: her husband of 48 years John D. Marquet of Old Hickory; mother Madeline Daily of Aberdeen, WA; and son Michael (Kathy) Marquet of Arlington, TX. Also surviving are siblings Terry Daily of Sikeston, MO and Frances Marzioli of Cosmopolis, WA; grandchildren Emma and Noah Marquet . She was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Daily. MT. JULIET -- Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Stewart, 91, of Mt. Juliet. Known as "Jack" to his family and friends, the former real estate developer and auctioneer died Monday, June 15, 2009. A 33-year resident of Wilson County, Mr. Stewart was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church, Al Menah Shrine, Mt. Juliet Masonic Lodge #642, Harvey Freeman Chapter #181, O.E.S. and was a former member of the Mt. Juliet Lions Club. Mr. Stewart developed Clearview Estates in Mt. Juliet. Visitation will be 9-10:45 a.m. Thursday followed by a Masonic service just prior to the funeral. Services will be conducted Dr. Carmen Lyle-Henley. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Survivors include: his wife of 65 years Virginia Ingleheart Stewart; children Larry Douglas (Harriet) Stewart and Shirley Stewart (Alan) Scully. Also surviving is brother Carl Elton Stewart, Jr.; grandchildren: Vanessa Ann Bridge, Keri Ann (Jason) Goodfriend, Erin Valerie (Andrew) Holm, Marie Celeste Stewart, Amanda Lenore Stewart, Laura Elizabeth Stewart, Emily Virginia Stewart and Claire Noel Stewart; great grandchildren Zachary Evan Bridge, Zane Alexander Bridge, Savannah Therese Evans, Alexander Caleb Blair, Cailyn Dorothy Goodfriend, Charlotte Grace Goodfriend and Tristan Matthew Holm. He was the son of the late, Carl Elton Stewart, Sr. and Katie Pearl Vickery Stewart. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William Arthur Stewart. Granddaughters will serve as pallbearers. A native of Kansas City, KS, and the daughter of the late Paul Thomas and Hazel Wood Wilson, she died Thursday, June 11, 2009. Visitation is 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Bond Memorial Chapel. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Chuck Groover. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Survivors include: husband David Johnson and children Michael (Jamie) Johnson of Mt. Juliet and Nicole (Scott) Little of Gallatin. Also surviving is sister Brenda Scott of San Diego, CA and grandchildren Cameron Johnson and Michael Johnson. LEBANON -- Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, June 17 at the Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon for Mr. Hodge, 45, of Lebanon. The son of the late Raymond and Thelma Ruth Hodge, he died June 14, 2009. Services were conducted by Robert McFarland. Interment followed in the Caraway Cemetery. Survivors include wife Paula Hodge; children Aleshia Hodge, Stephanie (Randy Mathes) Hodge, Kathyn Hodge and Zachary Hodge; brother Randy Lee Hodge; grandchildren Allison Ruth Hodge, Emily Danielle Hodge, Landon Lee Mathes and Christian Layne Mathes. Pallbearers: Robert Hall, Jessie Bennett, Terry Lynn, Joshua Bennett, Robert Entrekin, Matthew Lynn, Jamie Walker, Norman Temple, Randy Mathes, Darren Chaffin and Ronnie Walker.
