To the Editor:
Thank you for publishing the article written by Linda Granstaff in the Feb. 23, 2011 edition of The Wilson Post. The list of black teachers in Wilson County brought back many memories to me.

There were seven children in my family who went to school, so two of the names I can recall, Novella Davis and Nannie Glass. The teacher that she featured, Margaret Crutchfield, was my sister. I was in the sixth grade when she taught at Martha. I went with her to fish fries they had on Saturday night to raise money to buy supplies for the children.

Thanks for the memories.
