To The Editor: I have followed with interest the recent developments involving the Lebanon city council and a proposal to remove the fulltime position of mayor in favor of a city manager form of government. I live in a community now about 40 miles from Lebanon that has a city manager form of government. My advice would be to keep your fulltime mayor and have someone at city hall who is elected and who can be responsible to those who have elected him to office. A city manager is not elected and therefore is not always responsive to the concerns of good taxpaying citizens. I would urge you, as I sit from the outside looking in but from one who has had the experience of living in a community with a city manager form of government, to keep what you have.
