To the Editor: Recently we hosted our annual spring Scholastic Book Fair at Castle Heights Elementary School. It always generates a lot of activity and fun when the school library becomes a bookstore for a week, but the primary purpose of the event is to promote reading and get children excited about books! This fair was exceptionally exciting for the students and teachers at Castle Heights because of the generous support of our community. The program, “Partnership in Reading,” allowed local businesses and individuals in our community to participate through financial sponsorship of classrooms so that every child could receive a book of his or her choice to keep. The students and staff of Castle Heights wish to extend our heart felt thanks to the following sponsors for their endorsement and encouragement in promoting literacy and reading in our school: Angel Dingler, Bryant Family, Campbell Family, Castle Heights PTO, Crowell Family, Cumberland Skin Surgery & Dermatology, Dr. Nancy R. Barrett, the Fellner Family, the Grant Family, the Hodge Family, Horizon Concrete, Wilson County Assessor of Property Jack Pratt, the Lancaster Family, the Miller Family, the Stone Family, Terry Horne, CPA; Utopian Salon and the Wyatt Family.
