PREP FOOTBALL -- Thursday Night Lights targets LHS, MJ opener

The game, at Lebanons Tribble Field / Watkins Stadium, will be moved to Thursday, Aug. 22 to accommodate live TV.

LHS athletic director Darian Brown saidlast weekhe had received a contract from WUXP-TV and would be contacting Mt. Juliet High principal Mel Brown on Friday to confirm.

"This will be a great way to get our program out there," Brown said.

Mt. Juliet, 25-3 over the past two seasons, has been a regular on Thursday Night Lights, winning five TV games in a row -- including a 38-15 victory over Wilson Central in the 2012 regular season finale.

New coaches at both Wilson County schools could be a story line for the broadcast as Trey Perry is taking over the top spot at Mt. Juliet after his dad Roger Perry stepped aside recently.

LHS (3-17 over the past two years) is now under the direction of legendary Danville (Ky.) coach Sam Harp.
