LEBANON -- Savannah Sanders threw a three-hitter with 14 strikeouts Thursday in a 10-2 win over District 9-AAA rival Lebanon High.
The Lady Bears (21-6 / 7-1) got homers from Shelby Woodard, Kelsie Craighead and Kristin Jackson as they rapped out 12 hits off LHS pitchers Kasey Squires and Aanna Smallwood.
Sarah Aubuchon ripped a solo homer in the sixth for the Lady Devils -- who slipped to 16-16 on the season.
Mt. Juliet will take on some of the top competition in the Ohio Valley this weekend as they travel to Louisville, Ky. this weekend for the Ballad Super Prep Tourney.
Coach Brad Rowlett's team is scheduled to play Mathews High out of Vienna, Ohio and Glen Este from Cincinnati today (Friday), followed by a Saturday contest vs. Westerville, Ohio.
Wilson Central 6, Gallatin 1
GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central climbed to 18-14 overall and 6-1 in District 9-AAA following Thursday's 6-1 home win over Gallatin.
Morgan Powell had a busy afternoon, throwing a complete game two-hitter with 11 strikeouts, and rapping out a pair of base hits.
WCHS will be in action later today (Friday) at Soddy-Daisy. The Lady Wildcats will take on Chattanooga Arts & Science, Walker Valley and Bledsoe County in pool play.
MJ Christian 10, Pearl-Cohn 2
NASHVILLE -- Mt. Juliet Christian Academy improved to 12-6 on the season following Thursday's 10-2 victory over Pearl-Cohn at Hadley Park.
Eighth grader Caitlyn Smith dominated in the circle, throwing a complete game two-hitter while striking out five.
MJCA is scheduled to host Stratford High Monday, April 21.
Gordonsville 7, Watertown 3
WATERTOWN -- Gordonsville's Cori Jennings threw a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts Thursday as Gordonsville topped Watertown 7-3 at Three Forks Park.
The Tigerettes slipped to 7-8 on the season and is scheduled to play at Westmoreland High later today (Friday).
Ezell-Harding 7, Friendship 6
ANTIOCH -- Ezell-Harding pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh to score a 7-6 victory over Friendship Christian Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Commanders fell to 20-10 overall, and 7-1 in the East-Middle District 1A.
Tana Whited took the loss for FCS, scattering nine hits and striking out three.
