MT. JULIET -- Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday August 3 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Green of Mt. Juliet. A native of Columbia and a World War II veteran of the US Navy, he died Monday, August 1, 2011. Mr. Green was a graduate of Lawrence County High School and had been a member of Cooks United Methodist Church for nearly 50 years. He was a former President of the Cooks United Methodist Men's Club and worked as an electrician for the L&N Railroad for over 10 years. He was retired as machine shop manager of the United Methodist Publishing House and was a 50-plus year member of the Mt. Juliet Lodge #642 F&AM. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Bond Memorial Chapel. Services will be conducted by Pastor Lee Stevenson and Bishop Robert Spain. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include: his wife of 70 years, Eileen Green; children Darrell Green and Jean (Bob) Coats; grandchildren Amber Green, Lucas Green and Casey Adams; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Ralph Walden Green, Sr. and Birtie Iola Gallaher Green and sister Fran Dispenziere. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary will be fellow retirees of the machine shop at the United Methodist Publishing House. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
