RTA Executive Director Diane Thorne drove to the Mt. Juliet Station to apologize to riders there. She noted that staff based their ridership projections for July 4 on the fact that several hundred people rode to the Christmas Parade in December 2007 in Nashville. She said this past week that refunds for tickets purchased would be offered.
Thorne noted that ridership on the Star has increased since fuel prices have climbed to about $4 a gallon and more.
Each ticket being returned for a refund must be signed noting the location of ticket purchase. Tickets will be refunded at face value. A return mailing address must be included with the refund request. Send the request with unused July 4 Music City Star Fireworks Express tickets to Regional Transportation Authority, Attention: Allyson Shumate, 501 Union Street, 6th Floor, Nashville, TN 37219.
