MT. JULIET -- Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, April 26 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mrs. Greenwood, 103, of Mt. Juliet.
Born in Hiram, MO, July 16, 1907, to the late George and Charlotta “Lottie” Sumpter McKenzie, she died April 22, 2011.
She was united in marriage to Charley Greenwood in 1934, who preceded her in death in 1973. She lived most of her life in the Parma, MO area where she raised her family. She moved to Tennessee in 1967.
Services were conducted by Pastor Kenneth Cox. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: children George (Linda) Greenwood and JoEmma Greenwood Morgan -- all of Old Hickory, Charles (Carolyn) Greenwood of Buda, TX and John Greenwood of Mt. Juliet.
Also surviving is brother Wayne McKenzie of Parma, MO; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Susan Morgan; brother Roy McKenzie and sisters Evia McKenzie Calhoun, Lena McKenzie Harrison, Thelma McKenzie Allen and Jean McKenzie.
Active pallbearers: Chris Greenwood, Chuck Morgan, Mark Greenwood, Chuckie Greenwood, Dale Hardiman, Kevin Hardiman and Terry Hardiman. Honorary: Beverly Adkins, Mary Jo Sircy, Freda Grigsby, doctors, nurses and staff at Alive Hospice, Karman Hartman, Jessi Perkins, caregivers and staff at Medi Home Private Care and Shelia Pruitt, Melissa Walker, Renee Allen and staff at Home Caregivers.
