Simms funeral service set Friday, May 6

After the war, he along with his brother opened Simms Magnavox in Lebanon where he had worked for the past 65 years.  He served as the Wilson County Historian for 19 years.

The family will receive friends after 11 a.m. Friday at Ligon & Bobo. Services will be conducted by Rev. Don McElroy and Rev. David Freeman. Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. 

Survivors include: his wife of 72 years, Claudine Talley Simms; son Dean (Gwen) Simms of Lebanon; grandchildren Stephanie (Chris) Morgan, Michelle (Jeremy) Bettle, Melissa (Chris) Hancock, Tiffany Blanton and Amy Blanton; great grandchildren Hunter, Tanner, Sawyer, Warner, Anna Lynn and Kandies Morgan; sisters Joyce Woodall of Springfield and Evelyn Carmichael of Knoxville; and brothers Julian Simms of Marietta, GA and Lewis Simms of Lebanon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Lucille Harlan and Beth Lindsley.
