Sixth-run sixth ignites CU rally

Jesse Coe (3-1) picked up the win for CU with 4.0 innings of scoreless relief, allowing one run on two hits with no walks and two strikeouts. The righthander worked out of a jam when he entered in the sixth and then retired 12 of the 14 batters he faced.CU starter Kevin T. Greene was knocked around by the Cavs, allowing six runs on 13 hits in five-plus innings. He walked one and struck out four in his shortest outing of the year but got off the hook when the Bulldogs scored six runs in the sixth to take the lead for good. Urquhart, Harrison and Seaton each drove in a pair of runs, with Urquhart, Chris Hall and Seaton all collecting two hits apiece.


Mat Irish (4-4), the first of three UVA-Wise hurlers, took the loss, giving up six runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings. He walked one and struck out one, frustrating Bulldog hitters before the Bulldogs got into the bullpen.Steven Klaiber led the Cavaliers (10-21, 6-10) with four hits and two RBIs, while Brett Hylton, Tye Marshall and Tyler Lighton all added two hits and Steve Allen scored twice.
