Snodgrass inks pro deal

Snodgrass also ranked among the OVC leaders in 13 statistical categories, including leading the league in runs allowed per nine innings (2.35) and fewest home runs allowed per nine innings (0.00), ranking second in earned run average (2.23), and third in opposing batting average (.245), and hits allowed per nine innings (8.05).

He was also among the NCAA leaders in strikeouts per nine innings (9.54) as the Bruins went 38-20 overall.

"Jessie really worked hard in the winter developing his change-up," said Belmont head coach Dave Jarvis. "He gained confidence in that pitch and it gave him another effective weapon in his arsenal. His work ethic and his attitude were just exceptional."

In high school, Snodgrass didn't see a lot of mound time until his senior year, but he made quite an impression on his Wildcat teammates with a solid senior year.

"I don't think there was a better young man to come through our program," Wilson Central coach Anthony Ford said. "He progressed from a guy who we weren't sure about to one of our top pitchers.

"This will be a great opportunity for him to be seen by another group of scouts, to maybe hook up with a major league organization. I know this, no one will out work him."
