| Afternoon shooting leaves one dead, Starks charged with criminal homicide |

By SABRINA GARRETT Desmine Watts, 21, the victim of a Thursday afternoon shooting, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at University Medical Center in Lebanon. Lebanon Police responded to the call on South Maple Street just after 4 p.m. on Thursday. The male victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to UMC by the Wilson County Emergency Agency. Officers believe the shooting occured on the front porch of 326 South Maple Street. Officers, who had been searching for the gunman, had a person of interest being questioned by 7 p.m. that night. They have charged Michael Desmond Starks, 27, who resides at the South Maple address, with Criminal Homicide. He is currently being held in the Wilson County Jail.
