Byars Dowdy "Roar Run" -- Lebanon’s Byars Dowdy Elementary School will hold its inaugural "Roar Run", a certified 5k run/walk Saturday, April 4. The event was developed to promote fitness in the community and to helping provide playground equipment for the students at Byars Dowdy.
Three places will be awarded in each division. A one mile "fun run" is planned for children 9 and under. T-shirts will be provided for any paid entry before March 7. Entry forms are available online at byarsdowdy.org.
Lions Club BR baseball -- The Lions Club Babe Ruth Baseball League will hold an organizational meeting for returning and prospective new team managers Tuesday evening, Feb. 3. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland University cafeteria. For more information, call David McKinney at 444-1113. Signups for the 2009 season will be held 10 a.m.Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Harold D. Greer Building in the Baird Park Complex. The league offers baseball for players age 13-16.
Superspeedway ticket sales -- Season tickets and single event tickets for the 2009 racing season at Nashville Superspeedway are on sale now by calling toll-free 1-866-RACE-TIX. The 1.33 mile concrete "D" oval will host three major events in 2009 which include:

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Toyota Tundra 200 July 31 - August 1.Watertown baseball, softball -- Watertown Community Leagues will be holding sign-ups for summer league play. Players ages 5 to 17 as of April 30 2009 can sign up at the Watertown Community Center between the hours of 8 a.m. - 12 Noon, on Saturday, Feb. 21 or Saturday, Feb. 28. LGSA signups planned -- Lebanon Girls Softball Association Spring League Signups for ages 5 -13 Friday, February 7 and Feb. 21 between the hours of 9-11 a.m. Sign-ups will be held at the LGSA Complex, located in Baird Park. Cost will be $55 which includes registration and uniform, after Feb 27 cost will increase to $65.
