WWBA sign-ups set -- Sign-ups for the 2009-2010 West Wilson Basketball Association season will be held Saturday, Sept. 12 at West Wilson Middle School, Carroll-Oakland School and Southside Schools. Sign-ups will be held between the hours of 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at all locations. Boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 18 as of Sept. 30 are eligible to play in the WWBA. Registration fee is $90 per player if paid before 1 p.m. Sept. 12. The fee goes up to $115 per player after the 12th. No registrations will be accepted after Sept. 15. AAU tryouts planned -- The AAU Girls Basketball Club, "Tennessee Team Pride" is offering an open gym tryout for girls in grades 3-8 for the 2010 season. Tryouts will be held at Hooptown on Murfreesboro Road in Smyrna Saturday, Sept. 12. Girls in grades 3-5 will tryout from 12-2 p.m., girls in grades 6-8 will tryout from 2-4 p.m. Participants should come ready to play and take part in drills. LHS swim meeting -- An informational meeting about swimming at Lebanon High School has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, September 10 at the Jimmy Floyd Family Center. Call Cindy Baker 453-4545 for further information. Four-man scramble at HP -- Hunters Point Golf Course will hold its annual Bring Your Own Team Four Man Scramble. The event is set for Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20. Entry fee is $280 per team if paid prior to Sept. 18. A $20 late fee will be charged for any team that enters the day of the tournament. Entry fee includes green fees, practice round and prizes. Carts are NOT included. The field is limited to the first 36 teams to register. Plans call for tee times to be used on Saturday and a shotgun start on Sunday. For information, call the pro shop at 444-7521. WC baseball golf tourney -- Wilson Central High’s baseball team will hold a benefit golf tournament Saturday, September 19 at the Windtree Golf Club on Nonaville Road. Entry fee is $80 per person for the 4-person scramble. A 1:30 p.m. shotgun start is planned. The field is limited to the first 36 teams to register. All proceeds benefit Wildcat baseball. CU alumni golf tourney -- The Cumberland Alumni Association will host the 10th annual Alumni & Friends Golf Scramble Monday, Oct. 5 at the Five Oaks Golf & Country Club with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $100 per person which includes cart fee, breakfast, lunch, door prizes and a goodie bag.
