Lebanon native Brad Dedman was introduced last Thursday as the new head football coach at Wilson Central High.

Dedman, 32, defensive coordinator for the Wildcats for the past four years, replaces Traye Aric who resigned at the end of the 2009 season after four years on the job.

A 1995 graduate of Lebanon High and a 2000 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, Dedman teaches in the math department at WCHS.

"I'm excited about getting this opportunity," Dedman said last week. "The boys have been working hard in the weightroom after school, they've giving us everything they've got."

Dedman was introduced to the team prior to Thursday afternoon's after school weight-lifting session by Principal Travis Mayfield. Dedman is in his second stint on the faculty at Wilson Central – having worked there a total of seven years.

"The process was a little longer than I thought it might have been and I was a little discouraged. But it was certainly worth the wait."
