PREP BASEBALL CRANKS UP -- Four Wilson County baseball teams were in action Monday as the spring sports calendar officially opened. Mt. Juliet High picked up a pair of wins over Alabama teams in Crestview, Florida with an 8-3 triumph over Hazel Green and a 9-3 win over Dothan. Senior Jake Harper homered in both games for the Bears. Lebanon High traveled to McMinnville and downed Warren County 8-3 as Cain Sloan drilled a two-run HR in the top of the first. Jake Byrd picked up the decision while Antonio Logue got the save. Watertown High dropped a 13-0, five-inning loss to Macon County. Friendship Christian School lost two games Monday in the Nike Classic, held in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Commanders fell to Huntsville, AL 2-0 (in a no-hitter) and 10-3 to NW Rankin, MS. Chris Hall and Dylan Boyd each had three hits in the nightcap. |
