WOOD ALLOWS ONE HIT IN 6 INNINGS Righthander Kyle Wood (2-1) picked up the pitching decision, working six innings and allowing just one hit while striking out six. Lee Maasen had two hits, including a first inning solo homer. Evan Shelton belted a two-run triple, Connor Gaines contributed a pair of singles and Chris Hall had two run producing sac flies. Mt. Juliet 16, LaVergne 6 T.J. Diffenderfer and Logan Dalton each added three hits for the Golden Bears -- who improved to 8-1 on the season. Cody Carroll went 5 and two-thirds inning to get the decision, upping his record to 3-0. Carroll allowed one earned run, struck out eight and surrendered just one hit. Hendersonville 3, WCHS 1 Allen Ecton took the loss, working five innings of four-hit ball. He struck out three. Britte Underwood’s three-run homer in the top of the first provided all the offense for Hendersonville. Ecton, Jacob McEintire and Devin Fish had Wilson Central’s hits. Lebanon 7, Portland 0 The big righty struck out nine and didn’t walk a batter as the Blue Devils improved to 7-2-1 overall and 1-2 in District 9AAA. Sloan helped his own cause with three RBI on a pair of doubles. Trevor Davis was a perfect 3-for-3. Jessep Polk added two RBI on a single and a fielder’s choice while Jack Partlow drove in a run with a third inning single. Jack McKeon had Lebanon’s other hit. |
