From Post staff reports With the win, the Golden Bears earned a No. 1 seed in the 6A playoffs and will host No. 8-seeded Oakland (6-4) Friday, Nov. 4. Jalen Graham and Brannon Garza each scored two touchdowns as Mt. Juliet racked up 462 yards in total offense. Graham ran three times for 114 yards while fullback Contrez McCathern had 12 carries for 151 yards. Wilson Central ended the season with a 2-8 record. Hendersonville 37, Lebanon 0 The Commandos closed out the regular season with a record of 6-4 while Lebanon slid to 2-8 in Troy Crane's first season as head coach of the Blue Devils. Hendersonville's David Priddy rushed for 108 yards and scored twice. Friendship Christian 58, Monterey 7 The win vaulted FCS into a first round home game in the Class 2A playoffs as a No. 4 seed. The Commanders will take a record of 7-3 in their Nov. 4 home game vs. No. 5-seeded Jackson County (6-4). FCS rushed for 252 yards on 32 attempts and did not attempt a pass in the game. FRA 42, MJ Christian 8 The Saints closed out the 2011 season with a record of 2-8. Jackson County 13, Watertown 6 The loss was the fourth in a row for the Purple Tigers after starting the season 6-0. Watertown (6-4) will be a 6-seed in next week's 2A playoffs and will travel to No. 3 seeded Rockwood (6-4). The winner of that first round game will play at No. 1 seed Boyd Buchanan (9-1). |
