TIGERS MAKE SIX ERRORS
WATERTOWN --
Dustin Stafford threw a complete game three-hitter and struck out nine as Westmoreland defeated Watertown High 7-2 Tuesday at Three Forks Park.

Watertown got doubles from Chase Meador and Logan Grantham -- along with a single from Brannon Hill.

The Eagles chased Tiger starter Ben Bain (0-1) after an inning and two-thirds of work. Ninth grader Nolan Allison gave up just one earned run over the final five and one-third innings with nine strikeouts.

The Tigers committed six errors and fell to 1-1 on the season headed into a 6 p.m. Thursday home game with Monterey.

BASEBALL -- Watertown High broke open a 2-1 game with nine runs in the bottom of the fourth and posted an 11-1 victory over Lancaster Christian Academy of Rutherford County Monday at Three Forks Park.

Lefty Dusty Meador went five innings for the win, scattering three hits, striking out five with one walk.

Centerfielder Brannon Hill was 3-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored. Dennie Holcomb went 2-for-2, drove in two runs and scored three times.

Softball drills M-Boro Central
SOFTBALL -- Watertown High opened the 2012 season Monday at Three Forks Park with an 18-0 win over visiting Murfreesboro Central Magnet.

Jamie Reed threw a two-hitter, striking out four with no walks. Reed helped her own cause with a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning.
