REGION SOFTBALL -- FCS hosts semifinal games Monday PDF Print E-mail

It's win or go home as the district softball tournaments have given way to regional openers tonight.

Mt. Juliet High's Lady Bears (32-13-1) will be on the road at Distict 10AAA champ Clarkville High tonight for a Region 5AAA tournament opener. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Coach Brad Rowlett's team finished second to defending state champ Beech in Friday's District 9AAA championship contest -- a 2-1 win by the Lady Bucs.

Beech (46-1) won their 40th game in a row and host Clarksville Northeast (16-11) in a 6 p.m. Region 5AAA semifinals game.

Friendship Christian will bring a record of 22-13 into this afternoon's Region 4A semifinal contest vs. Clarksrange High. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at FCS.

The Lady Commanders won the District 8A tournament last week with a 4-1 victory over Watertown.

The Tigerettes (16-14) will be on the road Monday for a 6 p.m. game at Clay County High in Celina -- the District 7A champion.

Monday's winners advance to the region finals on Wednesday and are guaranteed a spot in Friday’s sectional.
