Two Wilson County baseball teams will host their respective regional tournament semifinal games later today.

Mt. Juliet High (35-4) will host District 10AAA runner-up Northwest High of Clarksville in a 7 p.m. contest.

The Bears earned the host berth with a 4-1 victory over Station Camp Wednesday as Josh Smith (8-0) twirled six and one-thirds innings of six hit ball with five strikeouts before giving way to closer Conner Sugg in the seventh.

Sugg recorded the final two outs of the game and earned his 15th save of the season -- believed to be a state record.

Region 4A at Friendship
Friendship Christian School will host Clarksrange in the Region 4A semifinal game tonight at 6:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to the regional finals on Wednesday.

FCS (34-2) locked up the District 8A title with a 23-2 win over Trousdale County in Wednesday's tournaent finals.

The Commanders made it 14 conseuctinve district crowns after trailing 2-0 before scoring seven runs in the second inning. FCS tacked on six in the third and kicking in the run-rule with a 10-spot in the bottom of the fourth.

Monday's winners advance to the region finals on Wednesday and are guaranteed a spot in Friday’s sectional.
