JACKSON -- Lebanon's Rotary National League (9-10) all-stars dropped a 3-1 decision to Ashland City Tuesday afternoon in the championship game of the Dixie Youth AAA state tournament. The local squad went 5-2 during the tournament, after having won both the District 4 and sub-district titles.

Lebanon bolted on top 1-0 in the top of the first as Jeremiah Hastings led off with a single and came home on a ringing double by Braden Reece.

Ashland City took control with three runs in the bottom of the third inning -- only two of which were earned.

Lebanon reached the finals with a 4-3 victory over Summertown in Tuesday morning's semifinal contest. A two-run double by Hastings in the bottom of the fifth was the big blow as Lebanon rallied from a 3-2 deficit.

Reece and Hastings split the pitching duties with three innings of work each and limited Summertown to just four hits.

Summertown led 2-0 early, but Lebanon pushed across one run in both the second inning and the third.

The local squad defeated Selmer 3-1 Monday to advance to the tournament semifinals.
