Titans sign MJ's Jasper PDF Print E-mail

Two days after a release from the Buffalo Bills, former Mt. Juliet High football standout Michael Jasper agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 375 pounds, Jasper spent much of his rookie season last year on the Bills practice squad before being activated for the final game.

Jasper was regarded as a raw, untested talent, when the Bills took a slight gamble in drafting him out of Bethel University in McKenzie with their second of two seventh-round picks. Initially pegged as a defensive lineman, Jasper was switched to the offensive line last year.

According to reports out of the Titans pre-season camp, Jasper is expected to provide depth along the offensive line for the Titans. Tennessee currently has 90 players in camp as they prepare for tonight's preseason game at Tampa Bay.

Several Titans scouts were impressed with Jasper ability while watching the Bills' 7-6 loss to the Washington Redskins last week.

The 6-4 offensive guard recorded spot duty with Buffalo's reserve offensive line in the latter stages of the loss.

"He moved well," Titans Coach Mike Munchak said. "We brought several people in and he was the best of the group as far as an inside guy. When they're that big and they can move pretty well it's interesting to see."
