LHS tops Trousdale Co. 3-2
Lebanon High's volleyball team opened the 2012 season Tuesday with a 3-2 home victory over Trousdale County High. Game scores: 21-25, 25, 22, 25-21, 20-25 and 15-8.

Alex Britt led LHS with 12 kills, Tatum Thompson dished out 26 assists, Kelsey Yarbrough served five aces and finished with six digs. Nicole Painter had three blocks.

Lebanon returns to action with four matches next week, including: Monday, Aug. 27 at Trousdale County; Tuesday at home vs. District 9AAA rival Hendersonville; Wednesday at homve vs. defending A-AA state champion Friendship Christian and Thursday at Wilson Central in a District 9AAA match.

Tuseday's win was the first for new LHS head coach Adrienne Dotson.

Wilson Central defeats Smyrna 3-2
SMYRNA -- After losing two straight games, Wilson Central rallied in fine fashion for a 3-2 win at Smyrna in Tuesday's 2012 season opener. Game scores: 14-25, 20-25, 25-16, 25-22 and 15-5

The Lady Wildcats were led by a solid overall game from Dariyan Stallings, who finished with three aces, eight digs and 10 kills.

Korri Bowers chipped in with five digs and 11 kills while Brittany Wiseman served and ace, had eight digs and three kills. Amy Trice had 24 assists and Kendall Roberts had 16 digs.

Wilson Central plays again this weekend in the Smyrna Bulldog Bash, which will be held at A-Game in Franklin.

Tuesday's victory marked the first for Wilson Central's new coach Holly McCorkle.
