GALLATIN -- Wilson Central's volleyball team improved to 20-11 overall and 7-3 in District 9AAA play following Monday evening's 3-0 victory at Gallatin High School. Game scores: 25-15, 25-21 and 25-21.

Libby Trowbridge led the way with eight kills, a dig and three blocks. Madlyn Davis had seven kills, an ace, five digs and a block while Brittany Wiseman recorded four kills and 12 digs. Kendall Roberts had a kill, 15 digs and four aces.

Amy Trice passed out 25 assists, served an ace and recorded nine digs. The Lady Wildcats will be back in action at home Thursday, Sept. 27 against Hendersonville High.

LHS wins JV tourney
MURFREESBORO -- Lebanon High's junior varsity volleyball team brought home the championship of the Central Magnet High School JV Tournament.

Coached by John Stephens, the JV Lady Devils completed pool play undefeated to enter bracket play as the top seed.

In the first round of the elimination tournament, Lebanon defeated Upperman in two straight sets, followed by a 2-0 win over Riverdale, sending both teams to the losers brackets.

Riverdale made their way back to the championship game but lost to Lebanon in the finals.
