PIKEVILLE, Ky. – Lemeco Miller posted 208 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns as 19th-ranked Cumberland rolled up 491 yards of total offense in a 41-23 win over the University of Pikeville Saturday at Hillard Howard Field.

The Bulldogs (4-1) won their second straight road game and third away from home this season -- despite 11 penalties for 90 yards.

Miller caught an 82-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter and added a three-yard plunge in the final period for his ninth and 10th touchdowns of the season.

Reed Gurchiek enjoyed one of the best passing days of his career, finishing 17-of-21 for 245 yards and two touchdowns and actually missed several other big-play opportunities, overthrowing Miller and Blake DeBoard in the first half.

CU rushed 38 times for 246 yards, including 62 on nine carries and a touchdown from DeBoard. But turnovers and kick returns kept the Bears (3-3) in the game, with CU fumbling twice deep in UPike territory and giving up 261 in returns, including a 95-yard kickoff by Jordan Amis for the score in the final period.

Jared White enjoyed another good day, making all five extra points along with two field goals, keeping the junior perfect on the year. Thomas Goodloe put the finishing touches on the win for CU with a 10-yard scoring run with 2:39 remaining.

Cumberland hosts Union College Saturday, Oct. 6 for Homecoming at Nokes-Lasater Field at 1:30 p.m.
